President of National Council of Swiss Confederation pays tribute to Armenian Genocide victims

The delegation led by President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Dominique de Buman visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex along with Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Armenia Lukas Gasser and Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Shirak Torosyan.

As reported the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute to Hayern Aysor, the guests from Switzerland were received by Acting Director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute Gevorg Vardanyan, who told them about the history of construction of the memorial complex and explained the symbolism of the memorial. President of the National Council of the Swiss Confederation Dominique de Buman laid a wreath near the memorial, after which the members of the delegation bowed in memory of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide near the eternal flame and respected their memory with a moment of silence.

The members of the delegation also visited the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute where they were introduced to the samples. Mr. Dominique de Buman left a note in the Book of Honorable Guests and particularly stated that he is impressed with the visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex and the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute and takes pride in the fact that the National Council of the Swiss Confederation passed a bill on recognition of the Armenian Genocide on December 16, 2003.

Let us remind that on December 16, 2003, the National Council of the Swiss Confederation adopted a decision on recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
