Culture week dedicated to 100th anniversary of First Republic of Armenia and heroic Battles of May in the Diaspora

Hayern Aysor presents the call of RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan to organize a culture week dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and the 100th anniversary of the heroic Battles of May.

Dear compatriots,

For all Armenians around the world, the year 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and the heroic Battles of May, which is one of the most brilliant manifestations of national unity in the history of the Armenian people.

It is a celebration of our salvation and renaissance that led to the establishment of our statehood and paved the way for the Republic of Armenia today.

Each of us is infinitely grateful for the memory of the heroes of Sardarapat, Bash-Aparan and Gharakilisa and those who shaped the republic, and this makes us the living feel bound and responsible to preserve the heritage of our ancestors and help our homeland grow.

Taking a look back at the past century, the Armenian people proudly recall the great dedication and patriotism of the sons of the nation, and the generation of independence is surely the dignified followers of that heritage and the ones who will empower the State with their competitiveness, wit, courage and creations.

Throughout the year, the Republic of Armenia will host various events that will symbolize our collectiveness, the way we reinterpret the history and how we look forward.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia calls on you to hold, if appropriate, a culture week dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia and the 100th anniversary of the heroic Battles of May through concerts, poetry events, lectures, meetings, exhibitions and other events and take part in this celebration of pan-national significance.

The culture week will become a unique test of our solidarity as a nation.

Let the Armenian nation only celebrate victories and unite around those victories and never experience bad days like the bad days that it experienced in the month of April.

WITH LOVE,

HRANUSH HAKOBYAN
