Feast of St. James the Greater in Jerusalem

On January 11, 2018, St. James Brotherhood celebrated the feast of St. James the Greater who is considered the patron saint of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

As reported Armenian Jerusalem Today, on this occasion a Holy Mass was celebrated by His Beatitude Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem Arch. Nourhan Manougian on the altar where the head of St. James the Greater is buried. His Beatitude also gave a sermon during the Holy Mass.

It is important to mention that the head of St. James the Greater, the first martyr of the 12 apostles is buried at St. James Cathedral while his body is buried in Compostela, Spain.
