Diaspora Minister receives Swiss-Armenian businessman Mike Baronian and Tigran Hakhverdyan

On October 11, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received Swiss-Armenian businessman, President of the Armenia-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce Mike Baronian and Executive Director of AZAD Pharmaceutical Ingredients AG Tigran Hakhverdyan.

The Minister praised their pro-national activities and stated that the Ministry of Diaspora has undertaken the Support to Bordering Villages Program through which various organizations and individuals of the Armenian Diaspora sponsor any bordering village of Armenia or Artsakh and help solve the socio-economic and other numerous issues of the particular village. “I am glad that you helped capitally renovate and furnish the kindergarten in the Aygehovit village of Tavush Province and are now renovating the medical clinic in Aygehovit that also provides services to the residents of nearby villages,” the Minister emphasized.

The guests presented the activities of AZAD Pharmaceutical Ingredients AG in Armenia and added that 60 Armenian scholars and doctors are hired by the Society. “We mainly export our products and hope to see growth of our products year after year. This will help create new jobs,” Mike Baronian stated.

Attaching importance to the fruitful efforts of the businessmen aimed at making investments in Armenia, the Minister also touched upon the nearly 30-year activities of the Help Armenia Charitable Organization in Armenia, the representative of which is Mike Baronian. “Established in the wake of the 1988 Spitak Earthquake, the Help Armenia organization has carried out numerous charity programs in Armenia and continues to develop and implement other helpful initiatives,” the Minister added.

Issues on showing Diaspora Armenian businessmen the attractiveness of investments in Armenia and spreading the word about the successful attempt of AZAD Pharmaceutical Ingredients AG were discussed during the meeting.
