6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference draws to an end

September 20th marked the end of the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference held under the title “Mutual Trust, Unity and Responsibility”.

The final plenary session of the conference was moderated by Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan. Greeting the attendees, with satisfaction, the Minister stated that the conference was successful and that the results would be summed up during the plenary session. “All of your questions, as well as opinions and proposals will be posted on the website of the Ministry of Diaspora and the Conference and will become a benchmark for our future activities,” Hranush Hakobyan added.

In his speech during the plenary session, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ara Babloyan particularly stated the following: “What is symbolic is the fact that the conference is being held ahead of the 26th anniversary of the declaration of Armenia’s Independence.

Allow me to express my gratitude to you all for your active participation. I am certain that this conference serves as a pan-national event that will bring us closer together, lead to tangible outcomes and promote the partnership of all Armenians around the world.

Generally speaking, the Armenia-Diaspora Conferences are a major event for Armenians in Armenia and abroad, and evidence of this is the geography that is expanding year after year.”

The participants of the conference summed up the results of the sessions held under four headings.

The results of the sessions held under the heading “Issues on the Development of Armenia” were presented by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms Vache Gabrielyan.

Senior Advisor to the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia Babken Vardanyan summed up the results of the sessions held under the heading “Specifics of the Defense Policy of the Republic of Armenia Amid the Current Challenges”.

The results of the sessions held under the heading “Foreign Policy Agenda” were presented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan.

Minister of Diaspora of the Republic of Armenia Hranush Hakobyan summed up the results of the sessions held under the heading “Issues on Preservation of the Armenian Identity”.

After the presentations, the participants of the conference adopted a declaration.
