Teacher from Armenia acknowledged as Best English Language Teacher in the United States

Susannah Mcphelim, who is of Armenian descent, has received the Sondheim Teaching Award and been acknowledged as the Best English Language Teacher in the United States of America in 2017.

Mcphelim, who was nominated for the Sondheim Teaching Award by her students, was among the top ten English language teachers of the year upon the decision of the Kennedy Center, writes Sputnik- Արմենիա, citing Alexandria News.

Susannah Mcphelim immigrated to the United States from Armenia where she had taught at the Armenian Pedagogical University in Yerevan for many years. She was also the University’s official translator. Mcphelim has also taught at schools in Virginia and Utah. In 2013, she opened a private language school in Alexandria.
